CVS Pharmacy and PlanPrescriber Release New Medicare Part D Savings Calculator
Seniors Can Save an Average of $612 Annually by Switching to their Optimal Plan
MAYNARD, MA, February 07, 2010 /United States PR News/ -- In their latest partnership effort, today CVS Pharmacy and PlanPrescriber launched their newest version of the CVS.com "Medicare Part D Savings Calculator." The Calculator is an online resource for seniors to enter their zip code, current Medicare plan (if they have one), and their prescription drugs in order to compare all of the senior's available Prescription Drug Plans (PDPs) and associated costs. Through proprietary database analysis and extensive drug pricing assessment, the PlanPrescriber Calculator provides detailed plan information and estimated annual savings - based upon the prescription drugs and current plan entered by the senior.
In addition to a foundation of comprehensive and unbiased plan presentation, the new Calculator includes a host of additional features including the following.

Earlier this year PlanPrescriber analyzed over 10,000 sessions from seniors using the CVS Calculator between November 1, 2008 and December 31, 2008 and assessed whether a senior was financially better off staying on their current PDP plan for the 2009 calendar year or if they could save money by switching into another plan. The annual savings ranged from $1 to over a $1,000 with an average of $612. A whopping 98% of seniors in the sample could benefit financially by switching to a different PDP plan.
